The living library

As part of the 20th Reading Festival organized by the BarchettaBlu Children's Library, The Home of The Human Safety Net, comes to life for a day of stories, music, and workshops for both adults and children. In our "Living Library"  books are people who are "read" by other people, sharing their personal and precious stories of inclusion, resilience, and potential. Each reader can reserve a book of their choice from the catalog for a conversation lasting approximately 10-15 minutes. There will also be workshops, storytelling sessions, dialogues, and sensory experiences, with words touched, words played, words signed with LiS (Italian Sign Language), and words drawn with AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), for an inclusive day dedicated to reading in all its forms. The event will conclude with performances by the choirs “Voci dal mondo” ("Voices from the World)" and "Coro Anton". Together, let's discover how reading can break down barriers between people and create opportunities for exchange and encounters.
